Should I get aftermarket auto parts?

An aftermarket part is a part that doesn't come directly from the manufacturer or original equipment manufacturer (OEM). These can cost less and be found in other general car part retailers, but we generally recommend for a luxury brand like Genesis, you make sure you're using OEM parts. That's because you don't want to possibly diminish the quality of your Genesis or impact its value with aftermarket parts. For parts that are essential to your vehicle functioning, you want to try and stick with the OEM route as best you can.

Which parts are most expensive to repair?

It does depend on the part. There are affordable parts fixes, and there are those that cost more. As you might guess fixing the likes of transmissions, suspensions and brake lines as well as cylinders can be expensive, but if you're up to date on service and have our team inspecting your vehicle, hopefully we can mitigate some of that cost by being able to identify problems early and avoid costly parts repairs.

You should always make sure you're getting OEM parts after collision repairs, so you know you're getting the right fit. Also be sure to check your lease or warranty, as OEM parts can be required, as adding aftermarket can void your warranty. If you're leasing, always use OEM parts.

Who installs aftermarket parts?

You'll find that many repair centers are able to do it, including ours. If you do decide to have an aftermarket part installed on your Genesis, it is best to consult us and have us do the repairs for you to ensure it is a quality fit, and done properly, and you at least have assurances that we warranty the labor if something wasn't installed right.

With a new Genesis, you're getting a 10-year/100,000-mile Powertrain Limited Warranty which covers the following:

With the new vehicle warranty you're getting a five-year/60,000-mile warranty which covers:

• Paint fixes
• Battery services
• Technology and software
• Bumper=to-bumper and routine maintenance

What car parts are not covered by warranty?

You won't find coverage for body panel or exterior damage, accidental damage, environmental damage, wear and tear and interior damage in your warranty.

Should I buy car parts from Amazon?

There's a lot of options on Amazon and sold from reliable vendors. For something like wiper blades, or headlight bulbs which many people can fix themselves, it's not a bad idea. However for parts that are essential to your Genesis running, we recommend seeing us to make sure you have the best fit.

Can you purchase auto parts at the car dealership?

Yes you can! Our parts department is here to provide you with a wide array of options as we have a standout parts network, which includes genuine Genesis parts. Can I bring my own parts to the dealership or service center?

We advise you call ahead and ask us. We will have to calculate labor costs, and let you know that if the parts do break or not work, we're not responsible since they are your own parts. Generally, we work only with the parts we have and can source directly from our own trusted sources.

If it's been sourced directly from us, we will install them. Other repair centers that have sourced the parts and you have consulted with will as well.

Where do I buy new auto parts?

You can purchase new auto parts from Atlantic Genesis via our parts department for the best and most accurate fit for your Genesis, while there's also auto parts stores in the area as well that provide parts needs.

Where do I buy used auto parts?

You can find used auto parts from online vendors, but we recommend being absolutely sure, and not to do this for any repairs on your Genesis vehicle, as this can impact the integrity of your vehicle. If it's a part you need for a restoration project of an older vehicle and you trust the source, buying used can be a route to take for you.

What do I do with old or defective auto parts I no longer need?

Find out what the proper disposal of them might be, such as a metal recycling center.
